The Science

An efficient no impact group workout that emphasizes form and function through compound closed chain and concentric-only exercise that increases heart rate and builds the mitochondrial density (not bulkiness) of muscles to extend “fitspan”.

Form First

Our trainers instruct every member on proper form while watching closely to ensure correct posture and positioning during every movement. Improper form leads to injury and is counter to our longevity and sustainability focused ethos. Form begets function which increases force of output, but without proper form we have nothing.

Function Focused

Each movement in our fitness regimen has a corollary movement in every day life. Whether you want to be the centenarian who is able to get out of a chair unaided, play on the floor with your great-grandkids, sprint up a flight of stairs, play a round of golf, or climb Mount Everest, we have the program that will ensure you meet your goals.

Concentric Resistance

Our innovative equipment benefits from patented water resistance tanks that enable concentric resistance consistent with the users force, while providing no eccentric load. This enables members at all levels of fitness to get a great workout - improving cardio capacity, functional power, motor skills, and muscle density - while avoiding the soreness and injury inducing eccentric load inherent to free weight training.

Compound Closed Chain Movements

Exercise where multiple joints move simultaneously against a form of resistance and an extremity is fixed to an object is known as compound and closed chain. Unlike open chain movements where a series of joints move freely without being fixed, closed chain movements are proven safe and effective enabling sustainability uninterrupted by injury.

The “Afterburn Effect”

Excess Post Oxygen Consumption (EPOC) - AKA the “afterburn effect” - is the increased use of oxygen and calories post-exercise. To achieve EPOC, our members strive to spend 12-20 minutes at 84-91% of their maximum heart rate. You'll be able to monitor EPOC achievement in real time and review the stats in your app after class. You'll be burning calories long after your workout.

Mitochondrial Density

Concentric movements increase mitochondrial muscle density - i.e., the percentage of a muscle’s fiber that is occupied by mitochondria. More dense (not necessarily larger) muscles turn over more oxygen and are more thermogenically active thereby burning more calories than less dense muscles when at rest.

Environmental Controls that Energize and Protect
